Every year, new clubs emerge at CHS. One such club is Psychology Club, in which members explore psychology through videos, group discussions, games, and other fun activities.

The club was founded this year by Lauren Miller, Kenny Okochao, Allison Wagner, and Vivian Hsiao. The officers started this club because they share a passion for psychology and want to teach it to others in a way that’s engaging and easy for anyone. Vivian even hopes to major in psychology and truly wants to create a place for learning as she says, ¨all of the complexities and inner workings of the brain¨ interest her.

Each meeting has a theme; past topics include mental health, phobias, MBTI personalities, and criminal psychology. They emphasize that suggestions for the future are welcome! The atmosphere of the club is very relaxed and is perfect for anyone of any experience level who wants to learn psychology outside of the classroom. Alison wants members to know, “Sometimes it’s hard to learn stuff in a classroom, but this sort of club helps people learn without it being time consuming.”

It’s a great opportunity to meet new people and bond over a shared interest, Lauren mentions the welcoming atmosphere, “If you’re interested in psychology, just show up and give it a try, we’d love to have you.” The club meets every other Wednesday from 3-4 PM in S226. If you have any questions feel free to contact the advisor, Mrs. Frysinger.
